The Brady FR22 fixed RFID reader was developed as a core component for modern fixed RFID installations within industrial and logistics environments. This basic device forms the basis of a new approach to fixed RFID systems, focusing on flexibility, scalability and integration. The FR22 is designed for applications where continuous identification, real-time data processing and reliable tracking are essential, such as manufacturing environments, warehouses, logistics hubs and smart factories. The FR22 is equipped with a new generation UHF RFID engine based on the latest technology. This allows the reader to process up to 1000 RFID tags per second, even in environments with high tag density or complex reading zones. Support of the ISO 18000-63 EPC Class 1 Gen2 v2 standard ensures compatibility with common UHF RFID tags within Europe and beyond. Thanks to the four RP-SMA antenna ports, the read area can be fine-tuned to specific processes, product flows, conveyor belts or access points, which helps prevent misreads.

Flexible communication without external hardware.

A key distinguishing feature of the Brady FR22 is its comprehensive set of communication options. The reader supports Ethernet, USB-C, USB host, GPIO, WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile networks such as LTE. This eliminates the need for additional connection hardware and allows you to integrate the FR22 directly into existing IT and OT structures. With Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3at), a single cable is sufficient for both power and data, simplifying installation, reducing maintenance and reducing interference-prone cabling.

Platform for web apps and system integration.

The FR22 runs on a stable Linux operating system and features a quad-core A7 processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB flash storage. Thanks to the integrated Web management interface, you manage and configure the reader completely remotely. Developers can create their own web apps with user interface, eliminating the need for an external PC or tablet. Integration with existing systems is smooth via RESTful APIs, NUR API, OPC UA Auto-ID server and SSH access, making the reader suitable for Industry 4.0 architectures.

Modular and scalable design for professional applications

The expansion connector allows you to connect plug-and-play accessories, such as the 16-port Brady MUX multiplexer, which centrally controls multiple reading zones.
