Complete fixed RFID solution with multiplexer for large-scale read zones
The Brady FR22 + MUX kit with 16 ports EU is a powerful fixed RFID solution for organizations that want to achieve multiple reading zones with one central RFID reader. This kit combines the Brady FR22 fixed RFID reader with the Brady MUX16 multiplexer, allowing one FR22 to function as a central reader for up to 16 RFID antennas. This makes the solution particularly suitable for large-scale industrial and logistics environments where scalability, efficiency and visibility are critical.
Powerful FR22 RFID reader as the central system heart
The FR22 is the technical heart of this kit and is equipped with a new generation UHF RFID engine based on the latest technology. As a result, the reader processes up to 1,000 RFID tags per second, even at high tag densities. Support for the ISO 18000-63 EPC Class 1 Gen2 v2 standard ensures compatibility with common UHF RFID tags. Thanks to this performance, the FR22 can process large amounts of data reliably and in real time, even in complex environments.
Expand from four to sixteen antennas with MUX16
The Brady MUX16 multiplexer expands the number of supported antennas from four to sixteen, without the need for additional RFID readers. This allows you to create multiple reading zones with one central installation. Think of aisles, conveyors, racking or production stations within one system. This approach reduces overall system costs, simplifies management and ensures consistent read quality across all zones.
Unique power and data transmission via coax.
A key technical advantage of the MUX16 is the unique power and data interface via coaxial cables. This eliminates the need for separate power cables per antenna, making installation uncluttered and error-free. The multiplexer is designed with very low signal losses, resulting in high efficiency and stable RFID performance even with longer cable runs and multiple connected antennas.
Linux platform with web management and API integration.
The FR22 runs on a stable Linux operating system and features a quad-core A7 processor with 1 GB RAM. Through the integrated Web management interface, you centrally configure and manage both the reader and multiplexer. Developers can build their own applications with modern programming languages and use NUR API, RESTful APIs, OPC UA Auto-ID server and SSH access. As a result, the kit integrates seamlessly into existing IT and OT architectures.
Modular, scalable and industrially deployable
The Brady FR22 + MUX kit is designed for fixed installations in controlled industrial environments. With an IP20 rating, support for Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3at) and a compact design, the solution is easy to install and maintain. The kit is widely used for applications such as asset tracking, inventory management, inspection labeling and RFID labeling within sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, energy, healthcare and high-tech industries.
