The FR22 Lite reader EU is the entry-level version within the powerful Brady FR22 product line and is designed for organizations seeking reliable UHF RFID performance without additional wireless or modular add-ons. This fixed RFID reader combines the same modern RFID engine and processing platform as the standard FR22, but in a simplified design aimed at fixed, stable installations.

The FR22 Lite is equipped with a new generation UHF RFID engine based on the very latest technology. This allows the reader to process up to 1,000 RFID tags per second, even in high tag density environments. Support of the ISO 18000-63 EPC Class 1 Gen2 v2 standard ensures broad compatibility with common UHF RFID tags within Europe and beyond. This makes the FR22 Lite suitable for a variety of applications such as identification, tracking and inspection processes.

Simplified design without unnecessary features

Compared to the standard FR22, the FR22 Lite is deliberately simplified. The reader does not have wireless connectivity, video functionality or support for external Brady modules such as the BFA ceiling antenna or the 16-port MUX multiplexer. This makes the FR22 Lite ideal for applications where these extensions are not needed and where a fixed, wired installation is sufficient. This results in a clearer system and a lower entry threshold.

Despite its simplified nature, the FR22 Lite features the same powerful Linux operating system as the regular FR22. The reader features a quad-core A7 processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB flash storage, allowing applications to run directly on the device. Through the integrated Web management interface, you configure and manage the reader centrally. Integration with existing IT and OT systems is via NUR API, RESTful APIs, OPC UA Auto-ID server and SSH access, making customization and system linking easy.

Fixed connectivity and easy installation

The FR22 Lite supports fixed connections such as Ethernet, USB-C, USB and I/O connections, ensuring stable and reliable communication within industrial networks. With support for Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3at), only one cable is required for power and data.
